As Sunday 12 draws closer, date in which the long-awaited Super Bowl LVII will be held, and Rihanna being the one chosen to lead this year’s already iconic Halftime Show, we’d like to recount a little bit on what we think are the best Super Bowl performances ever. Game on!

One of the most discussed halftime shows in Super Bowl history has got to be Prince’s appearance at Super Bowl XLI.
The singer/songwriter performed a guitar-driven medley of his biggest hits, including the iconic “Purple Rain” and “Baby I’m a Star,” all in front of 93 million viewers.
This iconic performance, which ironically happened while it was raining, cemented Prince’s status as a musical legend.

U2’s 2002 Super Bowl halftime show was a homage to the victims of the September 11th tragedy.
The band, led by music icon Bono, performed “Where the Streets Have No Name” and “Beautiful Day” with the names of the victims projected behind them.
More than a show, this turned out to be an emotional and impactful moment with over 95 million spectators tuning in to watch the tribute.

Her performance featured a medley of her best hits, including “Poker Face”, “Just Dance”, “Bad Romance” and her emotional balad “Million Reasons”.
Lady Gaga’s reputation as one of the all-time best halftime performers was solidified by this dynamic performance which ended with her catching a ball while jumping out of stage.
2. MADONNA

Undoubtedly one of the most anticipated presentations in Super Bowl history.
Madonna, the queen of pop, performed at the halftime show in 2012 which featured guest appearances by fellow singers LMFAO, Nicki Minaj, M.I.A. and CeeLo Green.
With 111 million viewers, Madonna brought her own energy and style to the stage.
The queen delighted her fans by singing all-time-favorites like “Vogue”, “Music”, “Express Yourself” and a chorus-assisted rendition of her hit “Like a Prayer”.

A rock version of her hit “I Kissed a Girl”, starring Lenny Kravitz, and Missy Elliott rapping her way across the stage to “Get Ur Freak On” / “Work It” were some of the fan-favorite highlights.
The show came to an end with Katy flying through the sky on a shooting star all while singing her love-yourself-anthem “Firework”.
